About me!
I am an illustrator and animator based in Michigan, where the freshwater lakes and northern forests shape both my surroundings and my imagination. But my inner world was first stirred by another landscape entirely: the sun-scorched, story-rich island of Sicily, where my mother was born.
Growing up as the daughter of a Sicilian immigrant, I was raised on folk tales that blurred the line between magic and memory. Those stories, of cunning saints, kitchen witches, and spirits hiding in olive groves, still live in my work. So do the recipes passed down through generations and the folk magic whispered over tomatoes and bread. My illustrations are love letters to that inheritance: earthy, enchanted, and deeply felt.
At the same time, my art is rooted in Michigan’s extraordinary landscapes and creatures. From the dunes of Lake Michigan to the herons and fish of its wetlands, I find endless inspiration in the wild, resilient beauty of my home state. In my animation and illustration, I try to hold space for both worlds, the Sicilian folklore of my mother’s table and the quiet magic of a Michigan majesty.
Whether I’m drawing a beaver in the underbrush or a folk charm, I’m always chasing the same thing: the wonder that comes when story, place, and memory meet.
